Giving a small business control of the systems it depends on.

At Raiden Resort, I moved booking, mail, domains, and other key systems into company control, documented recovery, and built a public site the team could run after handoff.

ROLE
IT Engineer (Contract)
DATES
Nov 2025 – Apr 2026
LOCATION
Iwanai coast, Hokkaido
SCOPE
IT stabilization + site design & build

The systems worked. The business needed to own them.

Accounts, platforms, and domains the business depended on were registered to individuals rather than the company, or configured in ways only one person understood.

I moved those systems into company control, so the team could manage the booking platform, DNS, and inbox through a documented business-owned path.

The handoff started by giving the business control of what it already ran on.

A practical path from personal access to company control.

01
Map the systems and owners

I mapped every platform, domain, mailbox, booking tool, and payment integration against its owner and recovery path. The work showed where a handoff would fail before any access changed.

02
Move access into company control

I recovered administrative control of core systems and moved them onto company-owned identities, so access survives staff changes. Where recovery needed vendor verification, I ran that process end to end.

03
Consolidate domains and DNS

I consolidated the domains and DNS under the business and documented registrar access alongside the records.

04
Leave a recovery path

I left a record of what exists, who owns it, and how to recover it, using the same documentation habit that cut ticket volume ~35% at Block, applied to a business of a dozen people instead of a few thousand.

OUTCOME
Company-controlled access restored
OUTCOME
Ownership of core systems clarified
OUTCOME
Domains consolidated under the business
OUTCOME
Continuity risk documented and closed

A public site the team could run after handoff.

The site could be rebuilt safely because the foundation belonged to the company.

The Raiden Resort site: logo, navigation, full-bleed photography and the check-in booking bar
RAIDENRESORT.COM · HOME, WITH THE BOOKING BAR
Positioning

A private coastal retreat with onsen, dining, spa and year-round adventure, with the Sea of Japan doing most of the persuading.

Design & build

Full-bleed photography, a bilingual entry moment (Enter / 入る), and a structure that survives a property adding seasons and packages.

Handover

Company-owned domain, documented access, and staff trained to use AI tools and manage their own website content and SEO work.

The handoff left an operator who could update the site, recover access, and understand the system without waiting for me. The site reached about 10,000 views per month.

Make your systems easier to own, recover, and run.

If your domain, booking platform, or inbox still depends on one person, I can move access into company control, document recovery, and hand the system back to the operator.
